I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
